Great running shoe
(2010-07-09)
This is my second pair of 2140's. Best balance of stability and cushion I have found.
Great shoe

This is my third pair of Asics GT shoes. Its very comfortable and supports my foot properly. The quality is quite good as the shoe generally lasts one full year of everyday rough use. I was fitted this shoe by a running company a few years ago and since then I have stuck to this brand.
Great Shoes.

I absolutely love this shoes, The fit is perfect and they are extremely comfortable. I've have been running for a week with them and I have never been happier with a pair of shoes.
Just make sure the arc support is right for you before you buy them.
A nice soft landing
(2010-05-27)
So far, these shoes are a very good compromise. I've tried the Asics 1140's (typically a bit more than half the price of these) and the Kayano (typically half again more $) and I wanted to get something Kayano-like but less expensive. The GT-2140's are close. They're very shock absorbent, which the 1140's are not, and they fit very well. The Kayanos seem to be just as soft but somehow have better structure and less weight, but the GT's are very good. The 1140's are nasty in comparison to the Kayano and not very good in comparison to the gt-2140, so I don't recommend those. They (the 1140's) also wear out surprisingly fast. I haven't had the gt-2140 to know how long it will last, but the Kayano lasts forever so I've got my fingers crossed, durability-wise. I really got the in-between bargain I was looking for - the GT-2140 has most of the good things about the Kayanos and costs a good deal less.
Mesh is flimsy
(2010-05-27)
I used to run in Asics 2xxx series for about 10 years and used to love them. Most part of the shoe are pretty durable and can work for almost a year. But the mesh on front-top is as flimsy as toilet paper and is getting worse in more recent models. Several pairs, which I had over the years, developed huge holes after about 4 months.
But the last GT-2140, which I bought from Amazon just 4 weeks ago already have a small hole, which is growing every day.
I cannot afford to buy new shoes every month. So, one star.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this hole? The rest of the shoe is still pretty strong.
I wonder whether there is a way to put stitches on it or glue something over the mesh.
