Great gaming pad and almost a perfect product.
(2010-07-22)
This is a great gaming pad for the PC. This product is comfortable to use and the software is easy to use. It works with any PC game out there and you can create custom profiles to your hearts content along with simple macros. The only issue I have with this gaming pad is that the official game pad profiles supported are lack luster and outdated. logitech does not support adding new profiles for newer released games it seems. So the profiles it does support are for games which were already out when this thing released. If logitech would actually create and update their profile list for newer games this would be the best game pad ever. As it stands now my old and broken Ideazon Fang had better support for newer games as Ideazon would constantly pump out profiles for their Fang game pad. Of course don't get me wrong the G13 is the superior product when it comes to software, comfort, over all construction and sturdiness, etc but Ideazon has one plus in that they actually update their product profiles for newer games.
PC noob

I'm new to PC gaming so obviously, the whole keyboard thing is taking some getting used to after 20 years of console gaming. So, I got this thing to try and make it easier and it worked. The hardest thing for me on a keyboard is hitting the number keys without looking down and taking my w,a,s,d fingers off but this gamepad makes everything seemingly closer and easier to find. It might take a little re-assigning of some keys though because it's as though the whole number row on the key board has just been moved down a row, minus the q,w,e, and r keys so the rest of the numbers are else where on the pad but it's really easy to figure out. There's also 2 buttons near the thumbstick that are so much easier to punch with your thumb then say the v or b keys on a keyboard. I was hoping the thumbstick would feel a tad bit more like a console but the way the w,a,s,d keys are indented helps your fingers not to get lost for traditional pc movement. I know if I wanted a console experience, there's plenty of controller support, especially for newer games but lets be honest, there's no camparison when it comes to mouse aiming vs. thumbstick aiming. The mouse rules!! So for new pc gamers who are used to consoles, this gamepad will make the transition much less painfull for your left hand.
MUCH better than N52 pad

I loved everything about this pad vs my old N52 that finally died. This one contains a great display that you can customize, a quick 4-profile switch via buttons and more keys to program.
The ONLY thing I dislike about this pad is programming the directional joypad. Telling it to turn left only makes it jolt left instead of doing a full turn. I've read the docs multiple times, and checked google with no luck. You can either code the joypad to jolt in directions, or get stuck turning forever when trying to re-program. I don't see a way to make it smoothly turn like it does with factory defaults.
Great BUT...

Its a great product BUT the ergonomics are a bit off b/c you can not adjust the height...meaning the keyboard had a downward slope instead of the normal upward slope like all normal keyboards. Also as usual there is a lack of game profiles provided by logitech (plenty of user ones though.
IMHO It's a mighty fine gamepad

Well, i'm a gammer, a wow gamer, and i find that the g13 is a fine tool for these games, it's comfortable enough that i can go on for hours without feeling any kind of discomfort.
and really the only issue i have with it it's the lack of resources like media control ones, for those times you want to play/pause a song, or Ff/Rw it, without changing your apps.
