Review(Amazon.com)
Kate Hudson twinkles as the heroine of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a magazine writer assigned to date a guy, make all the mistakes girls make that drive guys away (being clingy, talking in baby-talk, etc.), and record the process like a sociological experiment. However, the guy she picks--rangy Matthew McConaughey--is an advertising executive who's just bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days; if he succeeds, he'll win a huge account that will make his career. The set-up is completely absurd, but the collision of their efforts to woo and repel creates some pretty funny scenes. McConaughey's easy charm and Hudson's lightweight impishness play well together and the plot, though strictly hollywood formula, chugs along efficiently. At moments Hudson seems to channel her mother, Goldie Hawn, to slightly unnerving effect. --Bret Fetzer

Movie for Granddaughter
(2010-09-03)
I bought this movie for my 18 yo granddaughter for her birthday. I have never seen this movie but she has and wanted it for her collection.
Romance Is What You Want
(2010-08-02)
A great chic flick! There is a hot chemistry between Benjamin (Matthew McConaughey) and Andie (Kate Hudson). The motorcycle rides add to the daring challenges and mischief. The bets that they each have with their co-workers is taunting. The trip to his parent's home was 'just like home'. This has become one of my favorite movies.
Very clique and dumb
(2010-07-22)
This a very dumb movie and very clique and all the characters and her boss and his friends are nerds or clique characters and sterotypes and weirdos and this movie isn't very good. All the scenes, all the acting and the script is very clique and eye-rolling. it's a dumb movie. I suppose it's supposed to be funny, but is over the top and obinixouis film which is dumb. It's not a good movie, it's really bad. I hate Matthew in this, he's not a very good actor. His acting is very over the top and stupid and he makes every scene of his a living hell. He's annoying actor and he always seems like he's hiding something from the world or himself, or something he doesn't want to reveal or something he's not ready too yet. He's really bad and he stinks. He's a horrible actor, and getting older and fatter. Anyway Kate Hudson is a cutie and cute and adorable and she does a good job playing the character but her acting is a little annoying and over the top also because why doesnt' she just dump the guy on the first date or second and get rid of him and write the article for her boss instead of doing dumb things to drive him away, this is stupid and unneccesary because she could just get rid of him in a hearbeat and chooses not to. That's silly. This movie is very lame and the humor falls flat and the movie is dumb. His frends are nerds, and I hated a lot of the scenes because they were just too clique. The whole film was clique and dumb. Don't rent this. It's not worth seeing.
One of the best ever
(2010-04-13)
This is one of THE BEST romantic comedies EVER!! I can just hear the name of the movie, and I smile. I have this on DVD, but I am thinking about buying on Video On Demand.
I am somewhat impartial since I love Kate Hudson (she is SO cute)!! Matthew isn't too bad himself. Their chemistry in this movie is great. Even if you don't like romantic comedies, you should give this one a shot. Even if it is just to find out about Princess Sophia.
Archetypal chick flick
(2010-04-12)
Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson in a story about love, lies, and more love. This is a chick flick, and it shows. Some fluff about people doing stuff that you know pretty much guarantees they'll be together at the end. Whatever.
If you want to lose your guy in 10 *minutes*, make him watch this. Better idea--invite your girlfriends over, make some popcorn, and chat about how cute Matt is and how Kate Hudson looks in her yellow dress. (She is admirable if for no other reason than she hasn't bought herself obscene turbo-breasts. I gave the movie an extra star in admiration of her ethics.)
Rated PG-13 for "some sex-related material". (What, in a romantic comedy? Who'd'a thunk it?)
